This was a very elaborate, high-end project. It was virtually an historical restoration. The home involved was a large, three-story, Spanish-style architecturally designed structure, built in the 1920's. The construction was amazing. The doors were custom solid mahogany, the casings were curved solid mahogany inlaid into the plaster walls, as were the window frames. All of the wood had an oil finish. The floors were a type of oak that had to be ordered from out of state. The gutters were copper, the roof was Spanish style. The custom tile work in the bathrooms was the best of its day. We restored the structure to exacting detail. As is virtually always the case though, the owners wanted quite a few changes made, and we made those, changing the layout and the design of the kitchen, and most significantly adding a bathroom and laundry room on the lower level, something the owners had wanted for a long time. All in all, this project was a virtuoso performance.
